FAQ
uHandy Starter Kit
Why is the image blurry and out of focus?
When observing with Lo-Mag Lens, the distance from the sample to the lens is important for focusing. If it's too far or too close, the camera will be out of focus. Try moving the sample back and forth, until the image is clear.
Why is the image dark?
Lo-Mag Lens utilizes the ambient light. Observing in a place with sufficient lighting will give you the best result. You can also try the "Side Light" function of the uHandy app, or turn the flash light of you phone into torch mode to see a clearer image.
How to observe aquatic creatures?
The slot on Sample Cap is designed for observing aquatic creatures with Lo-Mag Lens. There is no need to open the cap. Simply drop the sample into the indicated area (labeled with SAMPLE ZONE), and you are ready to observe. You can also seal the slot with Sampling Stickers, so that the sample doesn't leak out when observing with rear camera.

Why is the image blurry and out of focus?
For Hi-Mag Pro Lens, make sure the sticker is attached on the "magnets side" so that the sample is in the effective focusing range.
Why is the image dark?
Hi-Mag Pro Lens, however, works with an active light source. If the image is too dark, please make sure if Light Stage works fine. If not, it might be that the batteries are out. Follow the steps of "Light Stage doesn't work. What should I do?" down below to change the batteries.
How to observe aquatic creatures?
For Hi-Mag Pro Lens, making water samples is the same as making dry samples. Drop the liquid onto Circular Slide with the magnets-side facing up. Then use a piece of Bubble Sampling Sticker to cover it up. If there's too much liquid, just wipe it off with tissue.
The front camera can also be used to observe water samples with Hi-Mag Pro Lens. Firstly, install Hi-Mag Pro Lens onto the front camera. Then put Circular Slide on the lens with the magnets-side facing up. Drip the sample onto the slide, and everything is all set up.
* No worries. Because of the surface tension of the liquid, Samling Sticker won't fall down even if you turn Circular Slide upside down.
On which side of Circular Slide should I attach Sampling Stickers?
Sampling Stickers should be attached on the "magnets side" of Circular Slide. Also, gently press the sticker to make sure the sample fits perfectly with the slide. This way, when moving Light Stage around, the sample will be intact and always in the focus range.
What's the difference between the white and the metal circular accessories?
The white one is called "Circular Slide", and we attach Sampling Stickers on it. The metal one is called "Slide Holder", and is used to fix conventional slides.
uHandy works well with our Sampling Stickers, but is also compatible with conventional slides. Therefore, you can also use uHandy to observe the prepared slides in your lab!

My Circular Slide is broken. What should I do?
If it's broken upon receipt, please contact us through service@loveuhandy.com. Our customer service team will come to your assistance.
Circular Slides are made of glass. For your safety, please do not press the slides forcefully. However, if the slides are accidentally broken, you can also contact us to buy a new one.
Light Stage doesn't work. What should I do?
Light Stage works with batteries. To install or change batteries, please follow these steps. First, loosen the battery cap with a coin. Then insert two LR44 batteries (both positive electrodes facing up), and tighten the battery cap. Press the switch to check if the light can be turned on.
If Light Stage still doesn't work after installed with new batteries, please contact us through service@loveuhandy.com. Our customer service team will come to your assistance.
